With over fifty stallholders, the Sydney Tea Festival is sure to brighten up a dull grey Sydney morning. You can enjoy the day sipping on a cuppa whilst listening to music at the Brew Lounge or wandering the market stalls, tasting sweet and savoury treats along the way. And if you’re particularly serious about your tea? Join one of the specialised workshops hosted by leading tea specialists.

Indulge the whole family at the Harbour Hoots Family Sunday, celebrating the International Lighthouse and Lightship weekend with tours and creative activies. Join character guide Captain Shawn Scuttlebutt for a friendly tour and games around the museum’s harbour, discover the stories behind Cape Bowling Green, Carpentaria and the Tasmin Light, or take the kids on a boat trip with Sydney Heritage Fleet. You can top it all off by climbing up the Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse for a dazzling birds-eye view of Sydney Harbour.

Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology also begins this Saturday. Held at different sites all over Sydney, this celebration offers mainly free community events. Whether you take magical photos in Centennial Park’s new light installation ‘Field of Orbs’, follow explorer Steve Winter’s journey as he tracks down big cats or decide to wander through the Sydney mini maker faire at the Powerhouse, you are sure to leave inspired and ready for the week ahead.
