As the weather gets worse these past couple of days, going out on the weekend might not seem like a good idea. However, with school holidays, university breaks, and the long awaited annual leave coming our way, staying home may feel like a waste. Sydney always has interesting events going on to incentivise you to jump out of bed and brave the cold weather outside. Here are some of the events you can attend this weekend.
Surry Hills Festival
The festival returns this Saturday to celebrate everything about the vibrant and ever-changing suburb. Featuring art installations, studio tours, music and performances, the festival will be going on around Crown Street, Shannon Reserve, and Ward Park, with pop up spaces across Surry Hills.

Northside Polo Spectacular
Those who fancy polo games will be able to play a match in this event, no matter if they are amateurs, professionals or even under 12. There will also be a jumping competition for charity fundraising where Olympians and Australian Champions will jump up to 1.7 metre high with their horses.

Sydney Guided Tours
To celebrate United Nations’ World Tourism Day, The Institute of Australian Tour Guides invites locals to explore Sydney like a tourist and get to know more about the places they are walking past in a guided tour around CBD.

Where: starting from Museum of Sydney, Cnr Phillips and Bridge streets, Sydney, and finishing at Customs House in Circular Quay

ABODE Bistro and Bar Sparkling High Tea Launch
Those interested to experience the ultimate high tea experience and learn more about wine will not want to miss this event. Hosted by wine sommelier and Director of Ergo Wines Cameron Anthes, the agenda will include masterclass on matching sparkling wines with complementing food and tasting high tea menu with wine.

Moon Festival at Zetland
Also known as Mid-Autumn Festival, the event is celebrating the year’s harvest on the fifteenth day of the eighth month in Chinese lunar calendar. The festival welcomes visitors to bring their plate, enjoy mooncakes together and appreciate the good time of the year.
